The World in

Blue

“The World In Blue” is a post-apocalyptical musical written by Greg Paquette. It is set around 210 years from now. It can be realized as a theatrical production, film, TV Mini-series or VR experience. It is a sci-fi musical that contains tragedy, comedy, betrayal, stories of forbidden love, espionage, assassination, and redemption, all neatly wrapped in a murder mystery, but ending with a message of hope and unity.

The production incorporates the theatrical elements of rock concerts. The musicians often appear as extras in the crowd, but when the music starts and they wield their instruments, they transform into rock stars.

The story, which is propelled by a charismatic cast of eccentric characters, takes place in an archipelago with three major islands that, because of their remote location, were spared from a nuclear war that had occurred two hundred years earlier. The indigenous people were joined by the passengers and crew of a couple of cruise ships. The characters are the ancestors of these survivors. Their technology and weaponry resemble those of Medieval times. Costumes, sets, and props have a ‘long ago and far away’ feel, as they have no modern manufacturing. The army’s main weapons are bows and arrows, stones and slings, and catapults.

A variety of musical styles as diverse as the characters are incorporated ranging from Rap/Hip Hop, Rock, Classical, Metal, World Music, Pop, Country Blues, R&B and Folk.
